Weekend Arrests by City Police

   04/23/13  On Saturday, April 20th at 2:25 A.M. Plymouth Police Officer Chris Miller responded to the 600 block of West Washington Street after Marshall County 911 dispatch received a call of a domestic fight between a father and son.  After conducting a short investigation 22 year old, John A. Popi Jr. of Plymouth was located outside of the Mayflower Tavern.  He was taken into custody for public intoxication.  Popi was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked in on a $1,005 cash bond.  He was released on Monday, April 22nd with No Judicial Review. Later Saturday night at 11:47 P.M. Sergeant Gary Cleveland responded to the 2,000 block of North Michigan Street after receiving a complaint from a resident of an unwanted guest that was in possession of drugs in their residence.  Arriving at the location, contact was made with 29 year old Benita Masterson of Hamlet.  Masterson was found to be in possession of marijuana, an unknown white powdery substance and several paraphernalia items.  Masterson was transported to the County Jail and booked in on a $1,505 bond.  She was given a Tuesday, April 30th court date in Superior Court I. 3 New Police Officers Sworn In

  04/23/13 Monday morning Plymouth Clerk Treasurer Toni Hutchings administered the oath of office to three new city police officers.  Jeremy Enyart comes to the department by way of the Argos Police Department.  Matt Emenhiser was an officer with the Marion PD and Ben McIntire received his training while he worked for the Bourbon Police Department.    The three new officers were offered conditional employment in early January under Chief Jim Cox.  At that time Cox said the committee had applications from over a dozen individuals interested in working for the city.  Since that time they have gone through the remaining testing processes and pension board approval.   The new officers actually started to work on Monday.  All three are academy trained so they will begin the Plymouth Police Department’s field training process, working with other officers prior to taking to the road on their own.

  05/01/13 On Thursday, April 25th at approximately 12:17 P.M. Plymouth Police Officer Shelly Cleveland responded to the 1250 block of Dora Lane in reference to a 911 hang up.  Arriving there, 24 year old Rebecca S. Keyser of the residence was located and arrested.  While officer’s escorted Keyser outside of the home and out into the public area she became disorderly.  As she was transported to the Marshall County Jail Keyser threatened to escape and kill officers while damaging the squad car.  She lodged and booked into the Marshall County Jail for disorderly conduct, resisting law enforcement, criminal mischief, and intimidation.  Her bond was set at $1,005 cash and she was released later that night at 5:25 P.M. after posting bond.   On Monday, April 29th at 9:09 A.M. Officer Bob DeLee responded to the Marshall County Probation Department in reference to a subject that had an active warrant out of Marshall County. Arriving at the department Officer DeLee confirmed the warrant and arrested 20 year old, Samantha Pessonette of Argos.  Pessonette was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on an active warrant for 2 counts of possession of paraphernalia with a prior conviction, 2 counts of [...]

  05/06/13  On Thursday, April 30th Plymouth Police Sergeant Mark Owen responded to 706 North First Street with the Marshall County Probation Department for a home visit.  Arriving at the residence officers along with a County Probation Officer entered the residence and detected the smell of marijuana.   48 year old Donna B. Carpenter of Argos was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana.  She was taken into custody and transported to the County Jail where he was booked in on a $3,005 bond. On Thursday, May 2nd at approximately 8:45 P.M. Officer Paul Stamper arrested 53 year old, Margarito Marin of Plymouth for operating a vehicle without ever having received a license.  Marin was transported to the County Jail and booked on a $255 cash bond.  He was released about two hours later at 10:50 P.M. after posting his bond.

  05/09/13  On Tuesday, May 7th at 3:41 P.M. Plymouth Police Sergeant Joe Deisch responded to Wal-Mart after a complaint of a subject trespassing.  Arriving at the store, 33 year old David G. Johnson of Grovertown was taken into custody for criminal trespass.  He was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked on a $1,505 cash bond. At 5:10 P.M. Sergeant Deisch went to a residence in the 200 block of West Madison Street for a subject wanted for a violation of home detention.   Arriving at the residence, 30 year old Isaac R. Flores of South Bend was arrested for violation of home detention.  Flores was transported to the County Jail and held without bond. Later that night at 9:47 P.M. Officer Deisch responded to the 700 block of West Washington in regards to a warrant service for Fulton County.  38 year old, Jakie O. Dean of Plymouth was located and arrested on an active warrant through Fulton County for none support of a dependent child.  Dean was transported to the jail and held without bond.   05/14/13  On Saturday, May 11th at 3:12 P.M. Plymouth Police Officer’s responded to Wal-Mart in reference to a male shoplifter.  Arriving at the store, 30 year old Gary Jankowski Jr. of Illinois was taken into custody for theft.   He was found to be in possession of several controlled substances.  After further investigation it was discovered that Mr. Jankowski was wanted on an active warrant through Porter County.  He was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $4,505 bond for his Marshall County charges and held without bond for Porter County. At 6:27 P.M. Officer Paul Stamper while working a DUI Task Force Patrol initiated a traffic stop on 28 year old, Charlene R Bryan of Fort Wayne.  Bryan was found to be driving while suspended with a prior charge.  She was taken into custody and transported to the County Jail where she was booked on a $755 bond. On Sunday, May 12th at 1:30 A.M. Officer Stamper arrested 36 year old, Anthony W. Meadors of Plymouth on battery charges.  Meadors was held in the County Jail on a $1,505 bond.     06/04/13  On Saturday, June 1st at 6:51 P.M. Plymouth Police Officer Jeremy Enyart was flagged down at Michigan and Adams Streets by a citizen stating that a male subject standing outside of the Brass Rail showed a pair of brass knuckles and lifted his shirt and asked for food.  The male subject located a short time later in front of the Plymouth City Building was identified as 23 year old Aaron M. Chipman of Plymouth.   Chipman became agitated and officers located a pair of brass knuckles.   He was detained and taken to the Plymouth Police Department where he confessed to intimidating the victims into giving him food.  Chipman was transported to the Marshall County Jail for intimidation and booked on a $1,505 bond.   A short time later at approximately 8:00 P.M. Saturday Officer Benjamin McIntyre was dispatched to Water and Garro Streets for a complaint.  A female told the officer that 35 year old Earl Wessel of Plymouth was pounding on her door and threatening her.  Officer McIntyre located Wessel that was found him to be intoxicated.  He was transported to the County Jail and booked for public intoxication with a bond set at $505. Yeazel Arrested on Multiple Charges

  06/10/13 On Sunday, June 2nd at 10:09 p.m. the Plymouth Police Department received a report from a resident in the 500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue that damage had been done to the caller’s vehicle. Plymouth Police Officers responded and the victim advised that the suspect had been seen cutting the tires on the victim’s vehicle and he recognized the subject as Tyler Yeazel. The victim also stated that Mr. Yeazel had pointed a handgun at him before running away.   The victim believed that Yeazel may have dropped something as he ran away. A handgun was later located in the area where Yeazel had been running. After tracing the handgun with ATF records it was determined that the gun had been given to Tyler Yeazel. Tyler Yeazel was located on Tuesday, June 4th in the 1500 block of Cook Street and booked into the Marshall County Jail. He has been charged with Criminal Recklessness with a Handgun as a class D felony, Criminal Mischief as a class A misdemeanor and Illegal Possession of a Handgun as a class A misdemeanor. 21 year old Tyler Yeazel is currently in the Marshall County Jail with a cash bond of $5,000.00.     [...]

  06/10/13   On Thursday, June 6that 9:23 P.M. Plymouth Police Officer Derek Workman responded to 305 North Street in reference to a medical call of a male subject unresponsive.  Arriving officers located drugs and paraphernalia in plain view along with 20 year old Zachery L. Anderson of Plymouth.  Anderson was transported by Plymouth EMS to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth for treatment.  Anderson was later transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked in on a charge of dealing in a narcotic drug and possession of a narcotic drug.  He was held on no bond. Later Thursday night at 11:57 P.M. Officer Ryan Richey conducted a traffic stop on Lincolnway East just east of Jefferson Street for an equipment violation.   During the investigation 39 year old Russel D. Hendricks of Bremen was found to be intoxicated.  Hendricks was taken into custody for operating while intoxicated.  He was transported to the County Jail and booked on a $1,505 bond.

    06/11/13  On Friday, June 7th Plymouth Police Officer Ted Brown received a complaint from Jaimes Catelan of Warsaw who is the owner of Jaimes Grocery at 116 East Garro Street in Plymouth.  Catelan said two unknown subjects had cashed fraudulent payroll checks at his store.  The checks totals figured out to be $1,833.51.  This case has been forwarded to the detective bureau for further investigation. That same day, Officer Brown was contacted by Value Property with a criminal mischief report.  The manager reported damage to the building located at 322 North Michigan Street.   Unknown subjects scratched the plate glass windows in the front of the building and carved the letters “HBOK” into the glass on the doors.  There are no suspects in this case at this time. Both cases are still under investigation and Plymouth Police asked if anyone has information to either of these crimes to contact the PD at 936-2126.

    06/12/13  Last Wednesday, June 5th at 8:10 P.M. Plymouth Police Officer Derek Workman responded to the 200 block of West Adams Street for a complaint call.  Arriving, 20 year old Jordan R. Shepard was located and arrested for minor consumption.  He was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $255 bond and was later released after posting bail.         On Saturday, June 8th at 2:50 A.M. Officer Tim Taberski was dispatched to Kroger’s in reference to a theft report.  An employee advised that a theft of liquor had occurred  and that 32 year old Timothy Shadrix of Plymouth had been identified by the security video.  Shadrix was located a short time later in the Skylane Apartments parking lot and was found to be intoxicated.  He was taken into custody on theft and public intoxication with a .125 BAC and transported to the County Jail.  His bond was set at $3,005 bond.         Later that night at 11:59 P.M. Officer Paul Stamper responded to 610 West Adams Street in reference to an underage drinking party.  Arriving, 18 year old Megan C.     07/23/13  On Friday, July 19th at 9:54 PM Plymouth Police Officer Derek Workman responded to 401 South Michigan Street in reference to a warrant service.  30 year old Dustin R. Brown of Plymouth was located and arrested for an active warrant out of Marshall County.  Brown was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a warrant for dealing in marijuana, possession of marijuana 30 grams, possession of hash oil and possession of paraphernalia used to enhance.   He was booked in on a $10,005 bond. On Saturday, July 20th at 5:08 PM Officer Workman located and arrested 41 year old, Angela S. Rosander on Pioneer Drive near the entrance of the Marshall County Jail.  She had an active warrant out of Marshall County for possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance.  Rosander who is from Plymouth, was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on the active warrants with a $5,005 cash bond.   At 5:09 PM Officer Bridget Hite responded to the 300 block of East Jefferson Street after receiving a 9-1-1 call in reference to a physical altercation between a father and son.  Officer Hite [...]

  07/29/13  Last Tuesday, July 23rd at approximately 10:45 p.m. Officer Joe Deisch with the Plymouth Police Department responded to 2550 North Michigan Street in regards to a suspicious person complaint.   Officer Deisch located and arrested 38 year old Rachel S. Waggoner of Plymouth who was found to be intoxicated.  She was transported to the Marshall County Jail where she was held on a charge of public intoxication and booked on a $505 bond.  She was released on Thursday, July 25th no judicial review.

  07/31/13 On Monday, July 29th at approximately 3:00 PM Plymouth Police Officer Derek Workman observed 40 year old Todd Kring of Plymouth walking near the intersection of Walnut and Jefferson Street.  Officer Workman, having knowledge of an active warrant through Marshall County for arrested Kring, made a stop on him.  Kring was arrested on the warrant for civil contempt.  He was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $11,000 bond. At 6:49 PM Officer Jesse Pippenger located 21 year old Drew W. Schieber of Plymouth walking the 400 block of Adams Street.  The officer knew there was a warrant for his arrest.  Officer Pippenger made contact and arrested Mr. Schieber on the Marshall County warrant for theft and forgery.  He was transported to the County Jail and held on a $10,005 bond. Later Monday night, Officer Benjamin McIntyre conducted a traffic stop on 45 year old Rosendo Gutierrez-Diaz of Plymouth for a traffic infraction.  During the course of the traffic stop it was found that Mr. Gutierrez-Diaz had a suspended license with a prior charge.  He was taken into custody and transported to the Jail where he was booked in for driving while suspended with a prior [...]

      08/06/13  On Friday, August 2nd at approximately 5:30 p.m. Plymouth Police Officer Derek Workman conducted a traffic stop at Oak Drive and Jim Neu Drive.  During the investigation 21 year old Jeffrey L. Knoebel of Winamac who was a passenger in the vehicle was found to have two active warrants out of Hamilton and Starke County.  As Mr. Knoebel was asked to identify himself he attempted to use a different name and date of birth date before a positive identity was obtained.  Marshall County K-9 Arras was requested to assist and gave a positive indication of narcotics in the vehicle.  During the search of the vehicle several precursors along with paraphernalia were located.  That led to the arrest of 36 year old Billy Ottinger of Walkerton for possession of chemical reagents and or precursors and the arrest of 57 year old Kay F. Fisher of Plymouth for possession of chemical reagents and or precursors.  All three subjects were transported to the Marshall County Jail where Jeffery Knoebel and Billy Ottinger were held on $3,005 bonds and Kay Fisher was held on a $1,505 bond.   08/09/13  On Tuesday, August 6th at approximately 8:20 p.m. Plymouth Police Officer Shanna Gilmer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on North Michigan Street with expired registration tags.  Making contact with the driver, 26 year old Jonathan C. Harrison of Plymouth, it was discovered that he was operating a vehicle while suspended with a prior charge.  Harrison was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked on a $755 bond.  He was released on Wednesday after posting his bond and has a Superior Court II date of September 10th for his initial hearing. On Wednesday, August 7th at approximately 11:00 p.m. Officer Matthew Emenhiser responded to the Martin’s Supermarket parking lot in reference to a fight.  Arriving on scene it was discovered that 18 year old Kayla Guyberson of Plymouth and 24 year old Emily Windsor of Michigan had been in an argument in the parking lot.  During the investigation it was learned that Windsor had struck Guyberson in the face numerous times leaving redness and swelling.  Emily Windsor was taken into custody for Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury and was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $2,255 bond.

    08/13/13  On Wednesday, August 7th at approximately 4:40 PM Plymouth Police Officer Derek Workman responded to Wal-Mart in reference to a female shoplifter.  Officer Workman located and arrested 50 year old Boonie K. Halsey of Walkerton.   She was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked for Theft, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Halsey was held on a $1,505 bond and release later that evening after posting bond.  She it to appear in Marshall Superior Court I on September 24th. On Friday, August 9th at approximately 8:00 p.m. Officer Workman conducted a traffic stop at Michigan Street and Plymouth Goshen Trail.  The driver, 37 year old Rebecca L. Strayer of LaPaz was found to be driving while suspended with a prior charge of the same offense.  She was taken into custody and transported to the County Jail and held on a $1,505.  She was released Saturday and given a September 24th Superior  Court II date to appear. A short time later at 8:27 p.m. Officer John Weir approached a vehicle parked in Centennial Park and proceeded to walk K-9 Jax around the vehicle.  Jax indicated a positive hit for narcotics.  The driver of the vehicle, [...]

  09/06/13  On Tuesday, September 3rd at 7:13 p.m. Plymouth Police Officer Derek Workman responded to 905 Berkley Street following a call from a concerned citizen.  Arriving on the scene Officer Workman located and arrested 72 year old Shephen R. Bennett of Plymouth.  Bennett was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on charges of Public Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Law Enforcement.  Bennett was booked in on a $1,005 bond. On Wednesday, September 4th at 4:14 p.m. Officer Bridget Hite received information of a subject located at McDonalds having an active warrant.  Arriving at McDonalds, Officer Hite located 20 year old Melissa D. Batey of Plymouth who was wanted on an active warrant through Marshall County for Failure to Appear.  She was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on no bond.

  09/10/13  On Monday, September 2nd at approximately 6:15 p.m. Plymouth Police Officer Jeremy Enyart was dispatched to the Blueberry Festival’s White Tiger Exhibit located in the front part of Centennial Park.  The call was in reference to protesters.  Dispatchers further advised that the protesters had cut an opening in the Tiger Tent that is owned by the company, All Things Wild.  Arriving on scene a representative with All Things Wild told Officer Enyart that a female identified as 33 year old Mary T. Patterson of Mishawaka had walked over and cut a slit in the tent with a knife.  During a brief investigation, the knife was located on a 17 year old male juvenile along with marijuana paraphernalia.  Mary Patterson was found to be in possession of a prescription bottle containing a scheduled 3 controlled substance that was not prescribed to her nor the person’s name on the bottle.  Both subjects were given a citation and order to appear in court to answer to the charges. On Friday, September 6th at 8:34 p.m. Officer Shanna Gilmer responded to the 300 block of Simon Street where she located and arrested 49 year old Brian J.
